OUT LOUD

a St. Baldrick's team
  • What is the St. Baldrick's Foundation?
The St. Baldrick's Foundation funds grants for childhood cancer research through head-shaving events and other fundraisers across the globe, so kids with cancer can live long, healthy lives. For more information visit their website.
  • Do I have to shave my head to help?
No! There are MANY ways that you can help us to raise money for children's cancer research -- I, for one, photographed the events my first seven years before FINALLY becoming a Shavee in March 2018! ☺️ Help us to organize a fundraising event - annual events include Red Cypress Brewery's Pints for a Purpose, Kick the Coffee for Kid's Cancer, and Granted Ink's Tattoo Day SHARE our social posts with your family and friends - maybe they can donate! Provide support with your talent - we're always looking for someone to help with design work, t-shirts, etc. Sponsor the team - no need to shave here! If you have a business and would like to donate, we'll spread the word about you helping a great cause!
  • How Did Team Live Out Loud get started?
Team Live Out Loud started in 2013 in memory of Kellie Shimansky. Casie had been the Lead Event Photographer for St. Baldrick's Brevard since 2011 and quickly fell in love with the cause. In 2012 she promised to go bald as well -- but only AFTER she got married. 😉 Team Live Out Loud is now SEVEN years old and will be KNIGHTED in March 2019. To be a Knight of the Bald Table means you have been with the Foundation for seven years. Casie was Knighted in 2017, John (Dad) and Sean (Husband) will be Knighted in 2019. The has always been small, but mighty. Casie raised over $26,700+ in 2018 alone for her 19" of long, purple hair. She went bald for the first time just two days after she and Sean were married at Captain Hiram's on March 22, 2018. Together, the team has raised close to $60,000 for children's cancer reseach -- and have a goal of raising $100,000 by 2020. Help us get there - donate now!
  • Where will Team Live Out Loud be shaving in 2021?
Team Live Out Loud will be shaving on Saturday, July 31, 2021 as a virtual, private event. We hope to return to in-person events in 2022.
  • Why do you want my money?
Worldwide, a child is diagnosed every 2 minutes. More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease—in fact, more than many other childhood diseases combined. Often, they are treated with adult chemo and radiation - because no other treatment exists for their tiny little bodies. It's sad that in 2019, we haven't found better safer treatments for these children - and because of the horrific chemo and radiation they endure, many will have secondary diseases, disorders, and - yes - even secondary cancers. We're working HARD to change that. Find out more on StBaldricks.org
  • What does this money go to?
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is EXTREMELY transparent on where the funds collected go -- and most of them go straight towards helping researchers find better, safter treatments for these kids. Read about St. Baldrick's Financials here.
  • Can I sponsor Team Live Out Loud?
